Driving west in about an hour and a half brings you to the capital city of South Carolina, Columbia, the home of the 200 plus year old University of South Carolina and it's national and SEC champion sports teams. Columbia is also home to Fort Jackson, our country's largest US Army training facility. How about an enjoyable weekend in Charleston, another approximate two-hour drive down I-95 and I-26, or SC Hwy 41 through the beautiful low country. Or would you prefer the Blue Ridge mountains and all of it's scenic glory only three to four hours away. Then there is Charlotte, NC, between one and two hours depending on choice of route. It appears to be safe to say that Bishopville is centrally located in South Carolina with a veritable smorgasbord of places to see and things to do.
